About us

Page & Moy is proud to be celebrating a very special milestone in 2011 - our golden anniversary. We've been offering unforgettable escorted tours around the world for 50 years but our story began back in 1961, when just 23 people travelled on our very first holiday to the Le Mans 24-hour motor race.

Since then we've gone from strength to strength and developed a diverse range of experiences, including touring holidays, city breaks, river and ocean cruises, safaris and classic rail journeys. But in all that time our aim has remained unchanged - to provide personalised, authentic holidays in the world's most beautiful places.

See the world your way

Whereas the tourist seeks out famous landmarks and views, the traveller is drawn to places that have retained their authentic charm, and Page & Moy specialises in showing you these less-familiar delights. But of course, we don't neglect the iconic sights - they have earned their revered status for good reason and are often the inspiration for choosing your holiday. But we also believe that your holiday should be as individual as you are. We understand that you want us to take care of the practical details for you and provide an expert guide - but also that you have your own interests and want to discover destinations in your own way.

Ask your Tour Manager

We believe that the best way to discover a destination is to be immersed in the culture, so our holidays include many unique experiences that take you under the surface and beyond. You'll meet the people, eat the local food and travel on typical modes of transport. You'll get involved in absorbing activities that underpin everyday life: from wandering through Sorrento's lemon groves sampling limoncello to exploring Alberobello's quirky trulli houses. And if there are any experiences not covered in your holiday, simply talk to your Tour Manager. They will be able to help, pointing you in the right direction so you get the most from your holiday.

The flexibility to relax or roam

We plan itineraries that are rich in cultural, historic and gastronomic interest but we also offer the flexibility for you to opt out of excursions and pursue other interests if you wish. We understand that everyone is different, so if you would rather see a little-known gallery you've heard about than join one of our excursions, you're very welcome. Holidays are about relaxing, too, so we've built in ample free time for you to unwind. If you prefer, it's also a chance to wander where the mood takes you, as stumbling upon a museum or a secluded café can be magical moments in your holiday.

A rich heritage

The 1960s provided several growth opportunities, and Page & Moy developed a number of new tours with specialist partner companies. Our relationship with publications such as Cycling magazine and Women's Own created a whole new category in the travel sector - reader offers. It was an instant success and enabled the company to continue its growth plans.

The 70s, 80s and 90s witnessed huge changes in the travel industry - changes Page & Moy were happy to embrace as it moved the business into the cutting edge of consumer marketing. We developed our first brochure away from reader offers, sold direct to the public, opened a retail centre and became involved in third party promotions with the likes of Barclaycard, The National Trust, Walkers Crisps and The Telegraph.

In 1979, LWT (Holdings) plc, the parent company of London Weekend Television, acquired a controlling interest in Page & Moy. In 1988 Barclays plc - parent of Page & Moy's largest client, Barclaycard - purchased 100% of the shares in the business.

Founders Leon Page & Tony Moy worked for the group until the end of 1993. In December 2004, Page & Moy was bought by the Travelsphere Group. The combination of Travelsphere and Page & Moy created the UK's largest provider of escorted holidays worldwide - two very strong brands with complementary positions within the sector. Both continue to trade under their own brand names. Travelsphere's single traveller sub-brand Just You became a company in its own right in 2005.

In 2010 the group was renamed as the Page & Moy Travel Group as the three companies within its umbrella went from strength to strength.
