Itinerary

Day 1: UK/Brussels

You will board the Eurostar service in the UK. On arrival in Brussels, you will transfer to your hotel where you will stay for the next three nights. Relax and take advantage of the facilities at your hotel or make your own discoveries in Brussels.

Day 2: Brussels

Enjoy a guided tour of the city this morning, taking in the main highlights including the Grand Place, which is the centre of activity in the city and one of the most beautiful squares in Europe; the Parliament building and Brussels’ world-famous statue Mannekin Pis. This afternoon you are free to discover the delights of Brussels at your own pace. Stroll through the narrow cobbled streets, enjoy a local speciality, such as moules et frites for lunch, or simply sit at a pavement café and watch the world go by.

Day 3: Floriade 2012

Today we take you to Venlo for the Floriade 2012 exhibition, the highlight of your holiday. Blooms from all over the world create a dazzling display at this event which arrives in the Netherlands just once every 10 years.

There are hundreds of exhibitors and five themed zones, spread over 66 hectares, showcasing some of the world’s most spectacular flowers, plants and trees as well as a huge variety of fruit and vegetables.

Floriade 2012 also offers a varied cultural programme of music, dance, theatre, literature and visual art from all over the globe.

The event is organised in five zones including the Relax and Heal zone following the theme of ‘organic shapes’. There are no straight lines here, fluid paths and grassy hillocks help to create a harmonious landscape where you will feel tranquil and serene. Other zones include the Green Engine zone with industrial designs, machines and motors demonstrating the enormous resilience of nature. The Education and Innovation zone is designed to constantly present a different perspective, while greenery in cities and the creatures it attracts are highlighted in the Environment zone. You may also enjoy connecting with other event visitors in the World Show Stage zone, where water plays a vital role - water being the shared source of all life on earth. This evening why not enjoy a stroll around the city, perhaps picking up some delicious Belgian chocolates to take home

You leave Brussels today for your journey back to the UK aboard the Eurostar.
