Day 1: UK/Nuremberg

Depart 18:00

Arrive at Munich airport and transfer to Nuremberg where the MV Serenade I awaits.

Day 2: Bamberg

Arrive 04:00 – Depart 13:00

Enjoy this morning at leisure to explore Bamberg’s antique shops, or perhaps visit one of the town’s breweries to sample the beer. Why not join an optional walking tour to see Bamberg’s lovely parks, buildings and fountains, including a visit to the cathedral.

Day 3: Würzburg

Arrive 08:00 – Depart 21:00

Würzburg boasts some of the grandest architecture in Germany and is surrounded by the acclaimed vineyards of the Franconia region. Be sure to visit the Marienberg Fortress, and the breathtaking Würzburg Residence, perhaps Europe’s finest Baroque palace.

Day 4: Wertheim

Arrive 07:00 – Depart 12:00

A scenic medieval town with half-timbered houses and quaint streets. The town is famous for its glassworks and Franconian wine. Why not enjoy a visit to Wertheim Glass Museum or venture to the Wertheim Castle, visible for miles around.

Day 5: Miltenburg

Arrive 17:00 – Depart 11:00

Explore the historic sights of Miltenberg, an old walled town built on a slope beneath a fine castle. Why not sample the local beers and wines in the Weinhaus, a 500-year-old inn.

Day 6: Frankfurt

Arrive 23:59 – Depart 18:00

Frankfurt is a city where historic sights and modern architecture stand side-by-side. Day 7: Mainz

Arrive 01:00 – Depart 14:00

The historic university town of Mainz is your destination this morning. You’ll really get to know the town, birthplace of Johann Gutenberg, inventor of the printing press, on an optional walking tour. You set sail again after lunch, arriving in Mannheim during the evening.

Day 8: Mannheim

Arrive 20:00 – Depart 14:00

Deep in southern Germany is Mannheim. Many writers and painters have been drawn to the charming historic centre and university quarter, which remain the ideal place for a stroll. From here enjoy an optional excursion to Heidelberg, a historic university town, set on the banks of the Neckar.

Day 9: Rüdesheim

Arrive 20:00 – Depart 14:00

Spend the morning exploring this pretty town. Why not join the optional excursion where you can sample some of the excellent local Riesling wines in one of the authentic taverns, or enjoy an optional excursion to Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum. After lunch your cruise continues to Boppard.

Day 10: Boppard/Koblenz

Arrive 16:30 – Depart 12:00

Boppard sits right in the heart of the Rhine Gorge, nestled on the banks of one of the river’s largest loops, you can explore this appealing town at your own pace or on our optional walking tour. We later arrive in Koblenz, sitting at the point where the Rhine meets the Moselle.

Day 11: Cologne

Arrive 13:00 – Depart 06:30

Cologne is an interesting city with a long history, evident in its architecture. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere with an optional tour of the city’s highlights. Alternatively explore at your own pace, visit the main square and admire the magnificent cathedral.

Day 12: Dusseldorf/UK

Arrive 12:00

Your cruise comes to an end today as you disembark and transfer to Dusseldorf airport for your flight to the UK.

Please note: At certain times of the year, and depending on the level of the river, access to the deck may be restricted as the boat passes under bridges. This is purely for safety reasons. You can of course still enjoy the views from the lounge or your cabin. While the boat is in port, you will always have access to the deck.
