You will stay at the Hotel Bond Place in Toronto, the Rochester Plaza Hotel in Rochester, the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albany and the Courtyard by Marriott in Boston.
All the hotels are centrally located and of a 3.5 or 4 star standard. Comfortable guest rooms feature satellite TV, air conditioning, hairdryer and private bathroom, and hotel facilities include a fitness room, restaurant and/or café.
Sometimes accommodation will be in alternative hotels of a similar standard. Hotels will be confirmed in your final documents..

Itinerary
Day 1: UK/Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Depart on your scheduled flight to Toronto. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a two night stay on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Situated on the northern shores of Lake Ontario, Toronto is Canada’s largest city. Spend today at leisure admiring its many attractions, among them the 1,815ft high CN Tower – one of the world’s tallest buildings. Visit one of its many museums and art galleries or indulge in a spot of shopping in the Eaton Centre, just steps away from your hotel which is conveniently situated in Downtown Toronto. This evening you could choose to dine in one of the city’s many international restaurants, or perhaps take in a show in the renowned Theatre District. Toronto hosts its International Film Festival from September 15, when film-makers and international movie actors converge on the city, making this an even more exciting time to visit.

Day 3: Niagara Falls and Rochester, New York State, USA
Leave Toronto today and head to Rochester, stopping at the spectacular Niagara Falls on the way. The Falls are divided into two parts, the Canadian and the American Falls. The Canadian Falls are larger, 180ft high with a crest of 2,200ft forming a horseshoe-shaped curve. During your free time here why not take a Maid of the Mist boat ride, a truly unforgettable journey. Late afternoon arrival at Rochester, where you will stay for one night on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 4: Albany, New York State, USA
Early afternoon arrival in New York State capital Albany, where you can enjoy a free afternoon and evening. Why not pay a visit to the Albany Institute of History & Art or the New York State Museum, which houses a variety of exhibits dedicated to the cultural and natural history of the state. Another fascinating museum is the USS Slater, a Second World War Destroyer Escort ship moored on the Hudson River. After undergoing a 15-year restoration, this is the only one of 563 such vessels remaining afloat in the United States. You will spend the night in Albany on a bed and breakfast basis.

Days 5 - 6: Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Today you will be driven from Albany to Boston, where you’ll stay for the next two nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The colonial city of Boston has a fascinating history. From Pilgrim Fathers to the Revolutionary War, whatever era you are interested in there is something to capture your imagination here. The harbour area was the location of the Boston Tea Party, where in 1773 a group of colonists staged a protest at the East India Company’s monopoly on the tea trade. Boston’s main sights include the Freedom Trail – a 2.5-mile walk that takes you to 16 of Boston’s most significant historical sites – and Paul Revere’s house, the oldest building in downtown Boston. The city is also a cultural centre famous for the universities housed here and in neighbouring Cambridge – Harvard being the most instantly recognisable name.

Day 8: Portland, Maine, USA

The prosperous, cosmopolitan city of Portland, in the state of Maine, was founded in the 17th century. Sophisticated and elegant, the red brick buildings and cobbled streets serve as a constant reminder of days gone by. The Old Port area has been lovingly restored and is a delight to explore, make sure you wander around the charming boutiques and bookstores for a taste of daily life in the city.

Day 9: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

With an excellent quality of life, historic waterfront and stunning setting, Halifax is the heart of eastern Canada’s picturesque Maritimes region. Once the entry point for immigrants entering the country, the spectacular natural harbour has long guaranteed the city’s prosperity, and the capital of Nova Scotia is renowned for its culture. The waterfront area has been fully restored, its 19th century buildings now home to shops, bars and restaurants.

Day 11: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada

The heart of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown is a graceful, elegant city. The island is perhaps most famous as the home of author Lucy Maud Montgomery, who wrote the Anne of Green Gables series of books, all of which were set on the island. Do a little exploration of Prince Edward Island and you’ll see why so many people have fallen in love with it over the years.

Day 12: Gaspesie, Quebec, Canada
Arrive 08:00 – Depart 16:00
The Gaspé Peninsula is both rural and remote. The coastline is strewn with the rotting hulks of wrecked ships, and it’s the ideal location for a spot of whale-watching in the right season. The area is dotted with traditional little communities surrounded by a picturesque landscape.

Day 13: La Baie (Saguenay River), Quebec, Canada
Arrive 11:00 – Depart 19:00
Meander along the shores of the Saguenay River, marvelling at the dramatic scenery all around you. This has to be northern Quebec’s most breathtaking corner. With some parts of the river lined by cliffs that soar up to 500 metres, and with incredibly deep waters in parts, this really is a place you will never forget.

Day 14: Quebec City, Quebec, Canada/UK
Arrive 08:00
Disembark Norwegian Dawn in Quebec City and transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK.
